Harmonised classification is approved by the EU and must be applied mandatorily, while non-harmonised classification is based on available data and may be carried out by manufacturers or importers.
Assess the hazards of their substances or mixtures, classify them according to CLP criteria, label them correctly, and communicate the information to authorities and users.
Labels must include pictograms, a signal word, hazard statements (H-phrases), precautionary statements (P-phrases), and manufacturer/importer details in accordance with the criteria set by the regulation.
